Planning: Kate Nash @ Glastonbury

This 2 minute video shows Kate Nash playing at Glastonbury ( an annual festival for all ages). In the video, she says something really interesting that made me think more in depth about target audience, which was, "its more interesting when its [the Glastonbury gig] is not aimed at a certain audience". She goes on to say that Jay Z had to prove his point to be at the gig -as it was controversial him being there because he is a hip hop artist . Glastonbury is mainly aimed at those interested in indie. pop and rock, so, bu Jay Z playing at the gig, Kate Nash point out that Glastonbury is not just a rock, indie festival...but something much more than that.

Another interesting fact she point out is that teens nowadays prefer to gather in many numbers at a gig to experience something much more special than listing to at music at home. So what she is trying to say is that teenagers are drawn to many genres rather than just a specific one. By creating a gig with many artists that produce efferent genres, the gig will be more successful for e.g Hackney Weekend 2012 gig had many artists such as Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Rizzel kicks - but was still successful because there was a range of artits, not just a specific genre. All of these points have and me think more carefully about target audience and whether just approaching teenagers will be a good idea.
