As part of a warm up/introduction exercise, we used Final Cut Pro to do a lip-sync task. We were given footage from a previous groups work and we had to lay the base tracks down in sync with the track of the song.
To begin with I marked onto the track where the singing actually begins so its easier to match it to the footage. Then i picked 3 different pieces of the same footage which were shot in different locations, and marked where the singing actually starts. After that, I put all the footage together with the music track, and put them together so that the markings were in a straight line. When I was happy with the syncing of the music to the footage, I began to cut. I left the bottom track alone so that it can act as the base track for this song. I also made sure I cut to the beat so that the video flowed nicely. In the end, the music video synced well and the lip singing/edits were in time to the music.
