Research: State of the music Industry in 2012

The pictures show the hierarchy of the music industry state. At this moment, the Big 3 have control over the music industry and are in charge of production, distribution and consumption. Big changes have taken place in the music industry. In 2012, here are some the changes that have taken place:

.360 degree deals are becoming part of the contract. This includes touring, and acting.

.Music Industry is losing money through illegal downloading for e.g such as Lime Wire - a peer-to-peer file sharing soft ware opened to the public in May 3rd 2000. It released  spy ware (a virus that makes computer perform very slowly) which was illegal. Pirate Bay is a Swedish file sharing programme which made  millions through illegal downloading. Both software have shut down.

.More digital sales are being made.

. Purchased CD's are becoming more 'attractive' to convince the consumers to buy it. (E.g Katy Perry's scented CDs.)
