Reflecting back on AS year

For our A2 taster, our task was to choose a music video we wanted to remake in which my group did "Baby one more time", a song sung by Britney Spears. My group decided to remake the first minute of the music video, with Britney sitting in her classroom and the bell goes of, identifying that school's over.

Firstly, the problems with our remake was that we didn't have enough time to capture enough footage, so we couldn't fit the length of one minute, instead our music video only lasted 19 seconds. What I have learnt from this is that to film a music video, we need to film a lot of footage as many shots will be erased and some cut. Another weakness in our music video is we didn't film a variety of different camera angles, if we had more close ups we could have portrayed the boredom on the student's faces, which would emphasise how eager they are until school is over. Another weakness found in my music video was the mise en scene, not all students were wearing uniform, only the main character was.

However, the three things I did like about our remake was how the sound was in sync with the music. Also, we had a good setting, because we are college students and the music video itself was filmed in a school; it made it easier on us because we had an appropriate setting. I also liked how the shots match the footage from the original, as we got the foot tapping Britney Spears did and the close up of the clock, for eg:
